MY WELLINGTON FOOD HIGHLIGHTS
15/09/20
I spent a month in Wellington recently and made a point to visit as many cafes and restaurants as I could! After visiting over 50 recommended spots, here are my absolute favourites:
Harbourside Markets
Held every Sunday at the waterfront, this market is home to some delicious food trucks. We came here a few times but my favourite dish were these amazing dutch pancakes! Gone in seconds.

Sweet Mother’s Kitchen
A little slice of New Orleans, the Cuban sandwich is to die for and the beignets are heavenly. This was definitely my absolute favourite lunch or dinner spot in Wellington!

Pickle and Pie
The perfect spot at any time of day. They serve their own homemade bagels, incredible sandwiches and amazing meat pies and sweet pies of all kinds.

Pomelo
Tucked away in Oriental Bay, this epic second floor restaurant has the best service and food! The beef ribs were cooked to perfection and the sticky fried eggplant was delicious. They sat us facing towards to ocean for a sunset view.
Twist and Pour
If you love a black coffee brew then this is the place for you. New Zealands first manual pour over coffee bar with delectable single origin beans, they even have toasties if you’re peckish. The bench seats, board games and magazines give it a neighbourhood basement hangout vibe, which I love.

1154 Pasteria
Positioned right in the middle of Cuba St, this place had delicious authentic pasta which makes for the perfect lunch spot for a shopping break. We had the ravioli with brown butter and I’m still dreaming about it now.

Customs
One of our favourite spots to park up and work with a coffee, the vibe here is great and the coffee is greater.
